Ello Backup privacy policy

Last updated: 2 November 2026

Ello Backup is a personal tool run by Pablo Sanchez Martin for his own backups. It has one user, its owner.

What the app can access

The app asks Google for one permission, drive.file. That permission lets it see and manage only the files and folders that the app itself creates in the owner's Google Drive. It cannot open any other file in the account.

What the app does with data

Each night it uploads encrypted backup archives to a folder it created in the owner's Google Drive. The files are encrypted before they leave the owner's computers, so Google and the app's servers, if any, see only scrambled data.

What we collect and share

Nothing. The app collects no personal information from anyone, runs no analytics or advertising, stores nothing on any server, and shares no data with any third party. Information from Google APIs is used only to upload and manage the owner's own backup files.

Deleting data

The owner can delete the backup folder from Google Drive at any time and can revoke the app's access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
